2019 Community Education Council Elections

2019 is an election year for the Community Education Council. All seats will be available for a 2 year term.

The Department of Education has launched the Campaign on January 9th, in order to raise awareness among parents of the opportunity to serve on an Education Council. Parents can apply online at www.nycparentleaders.org  for the Education Council seats from February 14 through March 6, 2019. Information sessions are taking place in all boroughs.

Please join the Office of the Brooklyn Borough President on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 6:00 pm  at Brooklyn Borough Hall, Community Room, 209 Joralemon Street Brooklyn, NY 11201 for an information session on becoming a CEC member. The event is open to all parents/guardians to learn valuable information on the role of Community and Citywide Education Councils in our education system

SAVE THE DATE for the CEC Candidate Forum that will take place on Thursday, April 11, 2019, 6 PM at PS/IS 109 (1001 East 45th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11203). At this forum nominees for the CEC will be permitted to make presentations to the selectors (PA/PTA President, Recording Secretary and Treasurer) and other parents and interested parties.
