Welcome back to all our returning students and their families, and a special welcome to our new students and their families!
P.S. 217 is a wonderful place for our children to reach their fullest potential in all areas of learning, creativity and personal growth. We remain a school that values the arts and actively seeks out ways to integrate the arts into every area of the curriculum. We will also continue to offer our 4th and 5th graders Magnet Masters clubs on Friday afternoons, and are committed to working hard to ensure that children in every grade have the opportunity to participate in fun, educational and creative after-school activities.
There are so many ways for parents to get involved and support our school. I encourage you to join our wonderful Parents’ Association, which is truly a partner in ensuring that our children have the best learning environment possible. We invite you to take advantage of our open school days, orientations, receptions and special events. I hope to see and get to know many of you as you volunteer at P.S. 217!
As much as I enjoy the summer there is nothing like the excitement of getting back to school. It is a feeling that has inspired and energized me for the past 35 years of my career in education and it never loses its luster. I look forward to another fantastic year.
