Before children can receive instruction and develop skills, they have to get to school DAILY and ON TIME.  Families have a vital role in supporting their children’s consistent attendance in school. Not only does missing school affect their current academics, it can affect their academics for years to come. Each day of instruction that your child misses results in a direct loss of learning. Additionally, some middle school programs take into consideration children’s attendance and lateness when they consider the candidates during the middle school admission process.

At PS 217, instruction begins at 8:00 AM. Children arriving AFTER 8:00 AM will be marked LATE. Breakfast is served in the Cafeteria between 7:30 – 8:00 AM and in the classrooms after 8:00 – 8:10 AM.
