Monday, April 24th Gifted and Talented: Score reports are now available for students who took the G&T test. Your score report will come by mail, and you will also get it via email if you submitted your Request for Testing (RFT) online. The score report lets you know if your child can apply to G&T programs. Eligible families can apply online or in person at a Family Welcome Center until April 24.

Thursday, April 27th, Poem in your Pocket Day : Every April, on Poem in Your Pocket Day, people celebrate by selecting a poem, carrying it with them, and sharing it with others throughout the day at schools, bookstores, libraries, parks, workplaces, and on social media using the hashtag
#pocketpoem.

Friday, April 28th Deadline.  Students entering 9th -12th grade in September 2017 are eligible to apply. Deadline 4/28 Applications are now open for students entering 9th -12th grade in September 2017. Created as a follow-up experience to our Science of Smart Cities program, ieSoSC is an opportunity that offers 5 weeks of intensive STEM instruction and mentoring on the NYU Tandon School of Engineering’s Downtown Brooklyn campus in technology and engineering skills, design and prototyping, built around real world ‘smart city’ applications and research.  http://engineering.nyu.edu/k12stem/sosc/about-iesosc/

Friday, May 5th: The deadline for families to appeal students’ middle school placement:

Middle School Results Letters are now available – get yours from your elementary school counselor.
If you submitted a New Middle School Application in March, your results letter may also include a match to a new middle school program. You will have to choose which match you’d like your child to attend if you get two matches. You do not need to register at your middle school; the registration process is complete by receiving your results letter.

Saturday, May 6, 2017The FDNY is celebrating our 152nd Anniversary with an afternoon of open houses  New Yorkers will be able to take a tour, pick-up fire safety education literature, learn more about careers in the FDNY, and meet their local firefighters, paramedics, and EMTs
