Saturday May 6th, Free Swim & STEM class: For many, this will be the first opportunity to experience the combination of swimming and stem. Learn how the two activities complement each other, making for the most well rounded, and dynamic camp experience. Details: Each child will enjoy 30 minutes of instructional swim time, and 30 minutes of robot building. Monday, May 8Thursday, June 15: Free program for young people ages 10 to 19 teaches the mechanics of riding a bike, the rules of the road, best practices for riding in a group and on the city streets, and–of course–the joy and freedom of biking. Bikes and helmets are provided at no cost. Youth Ride Club meets once a week from May 8 – June 15, 2017 (no session May 29) at 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the following Community Bike Education Centers on these days:

  • Crotona Park, Mondays, 4:00 – 6:00 PM
  • Linden Park, Mondays, 4:00 – 6:00 PM
  • Jackie Robinson Park, Mondays, 4:00 – 6:00 PM

Tuesday,  May 9th CEC Elections  Attention PA/PTA President/Treasurer/Recording Secretary*:

  • Go to NYCParentLeaders.org and click ‘Cast Your Vote’ on the top right of the page.
  • Log in with the username and password from the Voting Credentials mailer sent to your school and home.
  • Once you have reached the voting screen, you are entitled to two votes, which you must assign to two different candidates.
  • If you log out, you will be able to log back in using the same credentials as long as you have not cast your vote.
  • If you have any questions about your voting credentials or the voting process, please e-mail CCECinfo@schools.nyc.gov or call 212-374-1936 (Mon – Fri 9am – 5pm).

*Selectors of the parent members of each CEC shall be the three PA/PTA officers mandated by Chancellor’s Regulation A-660; President, Recording Secretary and Treasurer. Presidents and officers of PAs/PTAs who are candidates in the selection process shall not be eligible to cast votes in the selection process. The PA/PTA shall select a member to vote in the place of each such president or officer for the purposes of the selection process.

Help Promote our Adult Education Classes : The Office of Adult and Continuing Education is providing March’s data of Parent Engagement classes in District 22.  The report highlights adult education classes and the average attendance.  Classes with an average attendance below 10 are highlighted in red and slated for closure and we need your help.    Please share this information with families who are  interested in joining one of these classes or if anyone is interested in promoting expansion of additional class openings.
