Dear Parents of PS 217 Students!
We’re gearing up for a new school year and have loads of fun activities planned. By getting involved in PA events, you and your family will have lots of opportunity to get involved, to have fun, and get to know other PS 217 families and the school staff.
To help make all this happen, we encourage you to get involved, starting now! If you are artistic, we could use your help with one of the following (All new volunteers get the support of prior PA parents):
- design a fresh new PA General meeting flyer format
- arrange to have large, weather-resistant vinyl banners made to announce PA meetings and other events
- maintain the colorful lobby board with the latest news about PS 217 events
- create big hand-painted signs for committee signup (Garden, Bake Sale etc..) (This is a one-time job!)
Also needed are bi-lingual parents able to translate during meetings. Roughly 32 languages are spoken in the homes of PS 217 families, so if you speak Bengali, French, Russian, Spanish, Urdu, Uzbek… (or anything else!) please help non-English speaking parents become part of our school community.
One more thing: The PA sponsors a Welcome-Back-to-School-Staff Breakfast on Wednesday, September 3rd, 8 am.
We would be grateful for all types of helpers–shoppers, servers, and clean-up. This is a fabulous opportunity to meet the teachers and begin the new year showing how much we appreciate all they do for our children.
