Proactive Strategies – Parent Workshop

Friday, October 16 @ 8:15 AM – Auditorium

“Behavior is a mirror in which everyone displays his own image” (J.W. von Goethe)

Have you ever wondered how you can best help and guide your children when it comes to their social and emotional interactions? Did you feel that sometimes you could have done more before they started to act out? Were there any negative behaviors that you wished you could have had a better handle on? One of the best discipline techniques is prevention. If you can prevent behavior problems before they start, you’ll end up with a much happier family. Preventing behavior problems does require some extra time and effort. However, it can be a worthwhile investment that can save you time in the long run.

Come on Friday, November 16 at 8:15 AM in the PS 217 Auditorium to learn from a NYU-LINCs speaker a few tips and strategies on stopping negative behaviors even before they start. As a bonus, you will be able to discuss whether you should or should not ignore mild misbehavior. Come to the workshop on Friday and don’t forget to bring your stories that you want to share with you.
