It is an honor to remind you that P.S. 217 is one of the 37 NYC schools selected this year to be part of the Department of Education Showcase Schools program!
Showcase Schools is one of Chancellor Carmen Fariña’s signature initiatives, hosted by the Office of Interschool Collaborative Learning in the Division of Teaching and Learning. Educators from throughout the city are invited to visit PS 217 on two Showcase days. The first visit will take place on Friday, February 3, while the second is scheduled for Friday, March 24.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our visitors to experience PS 217’s journey in creating the Magnet Master Clubs, “a BIG program for little cost,” a school-day arts enrichment club program that provides 400 4th and 5th graders with exciting learning opportunities taught by teachers, parents, retired educators and community volunteers. This program utilizes the skills and talents of an entire community to benefit our students. PS 217 completed an extensive application process to become one of only 37 schools chosen to share promising practices with teachers, administrators, and other school-based staff through this innovative program.
