The second Wellness and Nutrition Parent Workshop will take place on Monday, October 21 in the PS 217 Cafeteria. Offered in partnership with Cornell University – Cooperative Extension New York City every Monday morning at 8:30 AM, between 10/7 – 12/16, the Wellness and Nutrition Parent Workshop Series is a hands-on approach on various topics related to nutrition, health and overall wellness. All the topics are based on USDA Dietary Guidelines and www.ChooseMyPlate.Gov .

During each session the participants will engage in learner – centered, dialogue based education that is culturally sensitive. Visuals and hands – on activities will make teaching come alive. You will discuss, prepare, cook and taste foods. You will also learn strategies on how to provide your family with healthy meals and snacks while making the best use of the available food resources. The workshop series had their debut on Monday, October 7 with the topic: Introduction to EFNEP & Importance of Physical Activity and we need more participants in order to be able to maintain our partnership. Spread the word and come join us in the Cafeteria every Monday morning!

Bonus: Participants completing the series receive a Certificate of Achievement from Cornell University Cooperative Extension!
