City Harvest at PS 217

City Harvest Annual Drive until February 15th

Did you know that nearly 1 in 4 kids in New York City don’t always know where their next meal will come from?

The Student Council of P.S. 217 is proud to join the schools, organizations, companies, and New York City’s Fire and Police Departments to collect non-perishable food for City Harvest.  City Harvest helps feed the nearly 1.4 million New Yorkers facing hunger each year. The Council is kindly asking for your help in supporting this important cause!

The food drive will run until next Friday, February 15th. If you wish to donate to this wonderful cause, please bring in your non-perishable donations by next week. Boxes are placed in front of the Cafeteria in the Main Lobby. Acceptable items include: canned fruit, canned vegetables, proteins (i.e. tuna or beans), peanut butter (plastic jars), macaroni and cheese (packaged), hot and cold cereal (packaged, family sized), soups, and juice packs. City Harvest cannot accept unlabeled or dented cans, any open packaging, products that need to be refrigerated, homemade foods or expired products.
