1st Grade Corner: In November the 1st graders started researching animals for their nonfiction posters. They are working in pairs or in small groups and they are learning how to create non-fiction features like caption and parts labeling. Some classes are also making family trees as they are talking about family history.

2nd Grade Corner: Staten Island Historical Society welcomed our second graders on November 19. They had a wonderful chance to study from primary sources and observing how New York has changed over time. This was a superb experience for all of them especially since it perfectly linked in their November Social Study Curriculum—Geography of New York.

4th and 5th Grade Corner: Busy November for our 4th and 5th graders! The Magnet Clubs started on November 6. Our students are busy cooking, crocheting, salsa dancing, playing tennis, scrapbooking and so much more.
