Why Should I Read to My Child, Part 1: How, When and Where to Read to My Child. Getting Started and Keep Reading – Tuesday, April 2 @ 2:30 PM

Parent Workshop

“You’re never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child.” Dr. Seuss

We know that you all want your children to succeed in school. Years of research across country has shown that YOU have an extremely powerful tool in your hand: reading aloud to your child on a daily basis has a huge positive impact on your child. To learn more about how you can use this “magic” tool at any age (yes, you can read to a fifth grader!) please join us on Tuesday, April 2nd at 2:30 PM in the PS 217 Library for the first part of a series of workshops geared around the topic of reading aloud to and with your child. You will receive useful information, tips and resources, you will be able to sample some books and last, but not least, as the library will be open for families you will be able to check out some books of interest from our school library.
