This Thursday, November 16 we are hosting our Fall Parent Teacher Conferences! Remember that all students will be dismissed at 11:20 AM so please make sure you arrange for early pick up on that day. The Parent Teacher Conferences will be taking place in two sessions:
- the afternoon session, from 12:20 PM – 2:20 PM and
- the evening session, from 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM
You should have received by now your scheduled time to meet with your child’s classroom teacher, but keep in mind that during these sessions you can stop by and visit the other teachers that are interacting with your child this year. Our Art, Music, Theater, Phys Ed, STEAM and Science teachers are very happy to meet and discuss with you.
To make the most out of this month’s conferences, please take a few moments to review and consider the following tips before meeting with teachers:
- Consider bringing your child with youto join the conversation;
- Identify what you see as your child’s strengths and areas for growth;
- Determine the best way for teachers or other school personnel to communicate with you. Phone? Email? Notes in backpacks? Let us know what works for you;
- Be ready to provide important informationthat might help your child’s teachers better understand your child’s strengths, challenges, interests and approaches to learning.
Also, keep in mind that this should not be the only time you can talk with your child’s teacher; while during the Parent Teacher Sessions you will only have maximum 10 minutes to conference with a teacher, remember that every Tuesday, 2:20 – 3:00 PM teachers are having Family Engagement Time. May this month’s conferences be the first of a series of conversations that you will be having with your child’s teachers this year!
NOTE: Tuesday, November 14 there will be NO Family Engagement Time between 2:20 – 3:00 PM. Family Engagement Time is rescheduled for Thursday, November 16, 2:20 – 3:00 PM.
