School trip!

The second grade class (2-413) recently toured Brooklyn’s Wyckoff House Museum, a farm and home established during the 1650’s.

Each room of the house provided a different perspective on daily life in colonial New York. Museum staff told the children stories about the farm’s original owners and how life and work—from farming to cooking and household chores—has changed over more than two centuries. Students even got a chance to handle original artifacts including a pair of wooden shoes, a quill pen and ink, and toys.
